"Second Chances" movie

Post by Catspaw »

Is anybody else interested in seeing this movie? \:D/ It's supposed to be out in February, though I may have trouble seeing it in Canada. :( It sounds like it's going to be more of an American release. You can watch the trailer here.

It looks like it will be decent, though I'm sure it isn't a blockbuster or anything. ;) Since I love Michael W. Smith's music, seeing a movie that he both acts (hopefully well) and sings in sounds good, no matter what! \:D/

I think he's going to look a bit different in the movie than he does in those '80s album covers that you love so much. ;)

What's his new look? Gangsta...goth. I could envision the goth MWSmith.

*is very scared* No! Never! :noway: (I hope not, anyway). ;)

He looks pretty much the same as his new albums/recent pics - I was referring to the fact that Top once posted the argyle-filled cover from MWS's second album as his favourite. From that, he looks different. But he doesn't seem to have any new look for the movie, based on the trailer I saw.

I love MWS and I think he is perfect for an acting role. The other thing I REALLY like about this is that Steve Taylor is directing it. Not only was this guy a brilliant artist in his day but he has already done a far share of producing albums and directing small films. To put make it short, this guy is gifted in whatever he touches.

I really hope Michael gets to do the score for this movie: not the soundtrack necessarily, the score. I went a concert of his several years ago and he made the comment that he's always wanted to write the score for a movie and thinks he'd be pretty good at it. A situation just never presented itself. If you think about it, he's done a lot of really great instrumental stuff all throughout his career (Ashton, Rince De etc) so it wasn't hard for me to imagine him putting together a wonderful score.

I hope he gets the chance this time and does a great job \:D/

Same here. It sounds interesting, but I just do not think I'll ever get around to seeing it.

Not to mention the "Freedom" CD that is totally instrumental...

Well, I love Michael W. Smith and I love Steve Taylor... that's one count for it.

According to the website, it's opening in the greater Los Angeles Area (that's me!)... count 2.

It's gotta be clean... count 3.

If I can find a theatre, I'll be there!

I wish that it was released where I am, but it hasn't hit many theatres yet. :( I think a lot of people will have to wait for the DVD release.

I was reading CCM magazine the other day, and they reviewed the soundtrack for the movie and had quite a few positive things to say! \:D/

Thanks for posting that link, Trent! :D I think my old one used to work, but maybe not. :-k

Even though the likelihood of anyone here watching it on its release date was slim? ;)

I'm hoping to see it when it comes out on DVD. \:D/

It does look like a good movie. I hope I'll be able to see it in theatres. Thanks Trent

just on a side note another good movie where "W" has a part in it (his music really) is Joshua. I hope that doesent bring this topic off topic but I figured I'd mention it.
