Napoleon Dynamite

Post by HarlowRoxMySox »

The biggest movie (supposedly) in teendom today, is Napolean Dynamite. I have yet to see it, and wonder what any of the rest of you out there think about it. Is it worthy of seeing? Post suggestions/warnings here.
Do any of YOU know how to make hand shadows?

When I wonder about the content of a movie, I usually go to the Focus on the Family movie reviews section. http://www.pluggedinonline.com/movies/m ... 001863.cfm

This site is not one that I'm overly familiar with, but it looks decent.

See if that helps you out. I haven't actually seen the movie myself, so I can't offer a personal statement.

I haven't seen it. But of course everyone else and their dog has seen it over here. (I'm 34 out of 67 holds for it at our library.)

One of my friends said that there was absolutely nothing wrong with it, and I said there had to be something moraly wrong in it...and so I bet him a quarter. Will I win my bet? (I have to see the movie first.)

I watched it... I didn't see anything good about it. No plot and cheap. It's like there is a dork and they want people who watch to pity him. No music, no good graphics, bad acting... yup that's it.

Well duh, it's not supposed to have good graphics yada yada yada...

It's the most pointless movie ever made...

And that's what's makes it the funniest...

Just like Wayne's World and Envy...

I liked the movie there wasnt anything particular un Christian in it. I dont recall any profanity or any adult situations. Its just a movie about a boy and how he overcomes his challenges and prevails. Its a true underdog story

EDIT: misprint see below.

I think you meant "underdog"

And Catspaw is correct, plugged in is the place to go for movie news.

You cannot watch the movie while thinking seriously, if you do, it'll be the dumbest movie ever made. But if you go in for something quick and easy to digest, it's a classic.

As for myself, when I saw it in the theater (a place I rarely ever go) I was going on 30 hours with no sleep, so I don't remember much. Although I do remember I didn't find anything bad about it. I plan to watch it again sometime so I can remember what to laugh about.

Which movie, Dodgeball or Napolean Dynamite?

You need to be clear on the specifics. What, is this like the third time I corrected you on something?

Napoleon Dynamite is a very funny movie, and it's very unreligeous. Not even atheist, that's not what I mean, there is no reference to any religeon or anything, it's too pointless to even go that deep. But there's nothing wrong with it, not that I could see.

Dodgeball is the foul one.

Napoleon Dynamite gathers mixed opinions. Absolutely do not wach it for the cinematography, plot, soundtrack, etc. Do watch it if you need a laugh. And be sure to watch it with friends. It's always more fun that way. You won't like it if you don't like "stupid funny."
