Guide to the ToO Forums

Post by bookworm »

This is a guide to the main forums here so you know what kinds of threads go where.
If you check this and still aren't exactly sure where you should post a new thread you want to start, just put it where it seems right to you. Concern over picking the right forum should never prevent someone from posting, it's not a problem at all for a moderator to move the thread later on if needed! :)

As the description suggests, this forum holds any thread that doesn't fit into the subject themes of the other ones. If you're unsure where to post a thread about a general topic, you can't go wrong putting it in here.

Whit's End
Forum Description wrote:Whit's wiping down the counter, Connie's mopping the floor, and the kids are sipping on their milkshakes. If you want to talk about Adventures in Odyssey the radio drama, this is the spot to do just that!
As you can probably guess, threads about Adventures In Odyssey go in this forum.

We've got books on flossing teeth, plus three books on tossing sheep. If we spent our lives just counting books, we'd never get to sleep!" -Leopold the Librarian ("The Great Wishy Woz")

It's hard to describe the kinds of threads that go in this forum, you just know them when you see them. If a thread isn't really meant to spark real discussion, it's just a place to act silly and mess around, it gets put in here so the craziness doesn't take over the rest of the site.

Bart's Pork Rind Closet
Forum Description wrote:"Welcome to our humble commode!" This is where Bart keeps a collection of truly zany posts. They aren't worth sellin', but Bart doesn't have the heart to throw them away. Take a look around and add your own zany thoughts - Just don't touch his pork rinds!!
A subforum of The Electric Palace, this is a place for threads that are so close to being spam they need another level of separation from the rest of the board. Threads go in here if there is no conversation taking place at all, just incessant posting, for example counting threads or rating threads.

Gower's Field
Forum Description wrote:The place where role players come to play! If you want to start an interactive war, chat with real citizens of the town, or find other uses for your faction, this field can accommodate those desires. As with anything else, please try to keep your role playing appropriate... but you're still welcome to have a little fun!
This forum is for RPG threads that members create and participate in.

The Ruins of the Town of Odyssey
Forum Description wrote:The remains of some of this town's glorious history.
When a special event like a Story Arc, seasonal celebration, or temporary contest is going on, sometimes it will have its own forum to hold the threads relating to it. Once the event concludes, those forums are moved here for archiving. The contents are locked, no new threads can be made here, but you can look through the records of these significant events from our past.

Those are the main forums of our message board and are where you will be doing most of your posting. There are a number of additional subforums which have specific uses, but you don't need to worry about figuring all of them out right away. Be familiar with the primary areas listed above and you'll be in great shape for being an active member of our community! :)

Expand the section below to see descriptions of what the rest of our subforums are for, but don't worry if it seems like a lot to understand; these areas have specific purposes and aren't used as much as the primary forums.
