The 8th ToO Official Birthday Present Construction Thread

Yes, folks, it's that time of year again! The ToO is going to be turning 8 years old in less than a month. :shock: And so, as always, I am here with my smiley construction crew, to build a present for the good people of the Town of Odyssey. It could be a giant cake, it could be a factory, it could be a weird apartment building... you never know.

And so, without further adieu, I present the first picture of construction! Not much to see, just the contractor and I talking while workers in excavators dig out the foundation.

Wow, it's already time for another picture. We've got some large footings and giant steel beams going in. Whatever this is, it has some serious structure.

Update time! We're bringing in the tower from a large crane, so whatever that large steel base is is going to be tall.

This is actually starting to look even more like the Eiffel tower. Good eye. The contractor and I are briefing the crew on the next phase of the project, now that the big center column is in place.

Arg, I forgot to post here yesterday, so this picture is a day late. We've got something big happening now! A giant square made out of metal truss is being lowered into position. You can see they needed a very big trailer to bring in the sides on this thing. Any guesses?

The contractor is in the white hardhat, and I'm the one with brown hair and sometime an american flag hardhat.

The footing goes in quite deep, but we weren't able to show the installation on that. We always do plenty of research into the stability of our structures. If anything, the 5 cake was unstable.
