Mac vs. PC

I have been using vista just as long as pc pro, and no viruses for me. I have had lots of issues with wireless drivers though, more so here than in linux haha.

No viruses here either. Been using it for.. 4 months now. The biggest problems I've had have been incompatible software. Mostly old stuff.

As far as safer, smarter, and faster, I would go linux over that. Because Linux is better than all of those, and as far as better looking, yeah macs do look way cooler

I'm doing all my computing on my cousin's macbook. They're a bit confusing but once you get used to them they're pretty easy to use.

I recently received an old Dec 1999 model Power Mac G4 (Sawtooth) from my friend who moved away. I really like the design of the case so I'm considering gutting it, putting in a Q6600 Quad Core processor along with about 4GB RAM, and installing OS X so my sister and I can use it as our graphic design machine.

So I have a quick question to you techies out there. Would a good graphics card help 2D processing in Photoshop or InDesign work? I'm guessing since it's 2D, it's mainly the processor and RAM.

I really like Apple's computer designs ever since Jobs came back.

Doin a bit of Google searching helps haha.

I found out that 2D graphics aren't much affected by graphics cards now-be cause onboard graphics are above the capacity needed for heavy 2d rendering.

Also- I didn't know you could modify macs like that. I thoguht when I mac became outdated, you just buy a new one. That's pretty neat that you can upgrade them.
