Do you have a Snail or a Bunny?

Post by Firewitch »

Hi all,

I've got a Snail and I get really frustrated waiting it to sign on and for things to load. ](*,) I'm sort of curious as to what everyone else here has and what they think about it. I know Bunnies can't be perfect. So let it all out, pros, cons, loves, hates, funky little quirks certain browsers have, DSL v Cable v Satellite v whatever else is out there. :-k

I was on dial-up for many, many years... and just today got DSL! :D

I am most pleased, indeed.

Wow, you're really up with the times, TTC. Congrats and welcome to the world of almost instantly-loading images and pages that pop up within five seconds. I hope that you thoroughly enjoy it.

Frank has had DSL all of her life, and continues to bask in the warm sunlight of such a priviledge. (Dial-up stinks.)

Hhaaha tha sound so cute. I have a bunnie it runs fast. I think you should have used Turtle or Rabbit. But Bunnies are cute and Snails are indeed slow, have any of you guys ever see them run. They dont run they just slide very slowly.

I've got a bunny chugging Red Bulls - a 3mb cable connection.

Actually though it boils down to a slower speed - closer to 750K on average - because we have three computers and my Xbox live for Halo 2 domination connected.

It's great! :D

Although it still generally takes forever to do anything, because my computer is old and cranky and likes to freeze up... but at least I can download things at a reasonable speed. :)

Cheetah?

Okay, the energizer bunny then. :D

We currently run a wireless network in our home, so all four of our main computers (three desktops and the laptop on which I'm presently working) can engage in file transfer, etc. Internet speed is 11Mbps, I believe.

We have DSL, but it's wireless, because my mom needed it for her laptop. Other than her laptop, we have 4 other desktop computers.

At first, it seemed so fast, but now... I want to get something faster. Well, yeah, that's me... always wanting something more. #-o

Maybe you’ve got static built up on the line? Ours eventually gets slower to so we just have to reset it and it speeds up again.

I have a bunny! He's kinda old and slow tho... Perhaps I should feed him more and he might get faster.
I never make mistakes. I thought I did once, but I was wrong.

How does a very fast snail compare to a slow bunny? :?

I seriously doubt that. It is my guess that your wireless network runs at 11Mbps, and your actual internet connection is much slower (unless you have a ton of money to spend).

At home I have the snail. We are probably going to get a decrepit bunny in about a month. At shool I have Marathon Bunny (T1) and I frequently use the 4mb. cable connection at my friends house.

When I first read the topic of this thread I really thought that it was about weird pets or something! I've never heard those nicknames before.

At home I'm stuck with the snail, but at college I have a bunny! Yay! \:D/
