Aww, thank you. I'd be rather scared if a guy talked the way I do. :anxious:

And in answer to Mountain_Girl's sentiment...I don't think I ever did announce that I was a girl...except that my profile says that I'm female...and all those cute romatic Trank banners wouldn't have made much sense otherwise. \:D/ (Unless, of course, Trent DeWhite is a girl.)

And what is this about a "picture of Frank's secret identity" that was posted by Prince Ace Heart in the picture topic? :-s

I think that the "newbie" generation, as you put it, is very similar to the "newbie" generation of the Town Hall, and the Mole Boards. Nostalgia tends to cloud memory. The truth is that each of these boards had younger users, some of which were immature and may have been frustrating (at the time) to the older members, while others where worthy contributors shortly after getting used to the place. The only thing that has changed today is that the proportion of older users to younger users has changed, as the size of the board has grown, and the age of the average internet user has dropped.

Yes, but I'm talking about the current newbie generation that is totally wacky and sometimes annoys the oldbies. For example:

Jellyfish11
BrokenButBeautiful
Amethystic :-

And so on...

Or are you saying that there have always been goofs like us around and so the current oldbies have just always been annoyed by peeps like us?

No, he's saying that most of the current olbies used to be noobs and the oldies that talk about the "golden days" don't remember there was annoying stuff there too b/c the fun stuff is more, well, fun to remember.

As for noobs (I doubt I'd call jelly one, for the record) one of two things happen to them all. They either go away, or they learn better posting habits.

Personally, I think it's stupid that some people make a big deal out of that stuff.

i think so, because you've been around for only a bit longer than me.

Maybe after a year we won't be considered newbies anymore...

Heh, I'll be an oldbie someday ;). I'm not exactly a newbie as it is anymore, anyway \:D/.

In my opinion there's 3 catigories: Oldbies, Newbies and the In-Betweens! \:D/
Oldbies are the boring old stuffy users that sit there and either criticize newbies or talk about the old times that only they know about; Newbies are the new posters with bad spelling/grammar who spam and post excessively; and the In-Betweens are the nice, mature users that calmly and collectively post mature posts. That's where you fall in, I & L! :)

Please completely disregard that entire post. Except for the part about I&L being mature. Which she is.

In regards to your first category--there is nothing wrong with reminiscing, it merely needs to be done with moderation and balance.
