Progress Report: July 1-4

I didn't really accomplish any of the things on my to-do list. :anxious:
  • Run one 7K
  • Do 100 push-ups daily
  • Do 100 sit-ups daily
I ended up walking nearly 10K on Canada Day, which left me exhausted the following day and in no mood for a 7K run. :noway: I managed to do several dozen push-ups and sit-ups over the past few days, but didn't quite get to my goal of 100 per day. I'll probably aim to do that this coming week instead. \:D/

So here's what I did achieve.
  • July 1: 150 minutes of walking
  • July 2: 90 minutes of reffing
  • July 3: 5 minutes of pushups/situps
  • July 4: 100 minutes of reffing

Well, in case I don't remember or do anything else today, I'd better report too. I went out on Monday, but that didn't count. :x So I have only one activity to report. Unless I do more tonight... in which case I'll edit.

Friday- walked (while pushing a double stroller) for 40 minutes.

I definitely hoped to do more, but between everything else it is a little hard to fit in. The contest was definitely a factor in getting me out yesterday, so I just need to keep the goals I made in mind throughout the week.

Catspaw's goals wrote: - 10 minutes of jogging on the spot - 5 days a week
- 50 jumping jacks - 5 days a week
I forgot that with this starting on July 4, it's really only a 4-day week. :anxious:

July 1: 10:50 of jogging
July 2: 11:30 of jogging and 0:50 in jumping jacks (50 jumping jacks) = 12:20
July 3: 11:00 jogging.
July 4: 11:00 jogging

Weekly total: 45:10 Not too impressive, but whatever. ;) Definitely short of my goal, but I did get in at least 10 minutes of jogging on the spot each of the 4 days. It turns out that I don't really like jumping jacks, so I think I'll leave them off my goals for next week, or try harder to actually do them anyway. :-

I did run 3 times this week, two of which were 10Ks. \:D/ Total week's mileage (including the run I did the day before the contest started: 15.9 miles!

No cross-training or weight-lifting, and only one set of chiropractic exercises. Something to shoot for next week, I suppose.

Friday: 3.5 miles + some walking (35 minutes); chiropractic exercises (50 minutes)
Saturday: 6.2 miles + some walking (70 minutes)

Total minutes: 155 minutes

Lol. With my crippled ankle, I feel so weak compared to all of you. :tongue2:

July 1-4
  • July 1: 15 minutes doing push-ups, crunches, and jumping jacks.
  • July 2: 15 minutes doing push-ups, crunches, and jumping jacks.
  • July 3: 30 minutes dancing, stretching, doing leg exercises with a ball, etc.
  • July 4: 30 minutes swimming
For a total of... 90 minutes. Not bad for a half cripple. \:D/

July 4: 105 minutes of random exercising. I don't really know how to describe it. :anxious:

July 1-4 total 260 minutes. Missed my goal, but I'm hoping I can make my goal next week since I don't have any racing.

  • Climb at least 9 flights of stairs daily at work
  • Ride my bike 2x for at least 4 miles
  • Play tennis 1x for at least 1 hr
  • Go swimming 1x for at least 20 laps
July 1: Stairs/Walking: 10 mins; Table Tennis: 25 mins; Biking: 35 mins
July 2: Stairs/Walking: 10 mins; Biking: 43 mins; Jump rope: 2 mins
July 3: Tennis: 55 mins; Swimming 25 mins
July 4: Swimming: 30 mins; Walking: 30 mins
Total: 265 mins

I met my goals this week and exceeded them a little, ignoring the 5 minutes of tennis. ;) For the stairs at work, I ended up walking 16 flights (7/9) and I'll certainly continue to do so because I need some activity at the sedentary office job. The lap goal for swimming definitely helped; I hadn't swam in a while, and I would not have made it that far had I not chosen a number. The next day, I got up to 20 laps much more quickly. Was that because of the lack of fatigue from chasing tennis balls or my improvement? I think both. All in all, I had a fun week and got to spend some good time with my family in nearly all instances. :)

Added: On July 4, I played about 30 min. of Calvin Ball.

I did about 350 min. of exercise this first week; not bad.

EDIT: I think. My math is sloppy, so I'm probably off.

Progress Report: July 1-4

During the first 4 days of our Exercise Contest, 19 ToOers combined to exercise for 3527 minutes, which is nearly 59 hours! I'm impressed and inspired by the turnout. \:D/

The majority of ToO exercisers this week were also goal setters. (Remember, if you haven't yet set a goal and want to have your minute bring in a little more cash, it's never too late to set a goal. :D) Most of the goal setters also assessed how they were doing with their goals. Great job! Since this is the first week, I'll give the 1 minute = $1 to all goal setters. However, in the future, you must explicitly assess your goals to get credit for 1 minute = $1. This could as easy as saying you didn't make, made, or surpassed the goal and perhaps why. There's of course no condemnation, and following up on your goals is a great skill to develop. :)

July 6: Rode the bike for 63 minutes ( :O!) and did the squats and stretches, which took 'bout 5 minutes. (I went grocery shopping for like 60 minutes, and pushing the cart--which was very full, we have a 6 person family, one whose a teenage boy who likes to eat a bit to much--does that count? I doubt it, but just thought I'd ask ;) )

EDIT: Haha, I'm in second place. O:) I feel so accomplished.

Ben Linus, I thought I was in third for a few seconds, before I realized that the list was alphabetical and that I was crazy if I actually thought I wasn't near the bottom of the list. ;) It's an easy error to make!
