Super Bowl XLVI commercials

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

Post by bookworm »

A commercial during this year’s game ran $3.5 million on average.

Which ones stuck out to you?

The hands-down, incomparable winner was the 2012 Audi commercial titled "Vampire Party." :hilarious:

My other favorite commercials were the following:

Bud Light - Rescue Dog
2012 Kia Optima - A Dream Car. For Real Life.
Happy Grad
Sketchers - Go Run Mr. Quiggly
M&M'S - Just My Shell
Chevy Silverado - 2012
FIAT 500 Abarth - Seduction
Pepsi - King's Court Super Bowl
2012 Volkswagen - The Dog Strikes Back
Hyundai Veloster Turbo - Cheetah
Dannon Oikos Greek Yogurt - The Tease
Doritos - Sling Baby
Century 21 Real Estate LLC - Final Super Bowl Ad
Acura - Transactions
Doritos - Man's Best Friend

Honorable mentions:

Time Warner Cable - Enjoy Better
Suzuki - Sled
2012 Honda CR-V - Matthew's Day Off (because my family drives a CR-V haha)

My favorite was the VW Star Wars commercial.

Through the previous week or so, they had been running this interesting commercial with the promise that at the Super Bowl it would make sense:

Sunday they explained the Star Wars and dog connection with this:

The ‘Vader kid’ was a reference to this commercial from last year:

I liked the Vampire one, but I didn't think any of the other ones were that great. None really made me laugh that much.

I was surprised to hear Philip Glass music in one of the commercials, I don't remember which one it was though...

The song was either Floe or Rubric.

I didn’t like the vampire one when I saw it because it just made me go ‘Oh boy, more vampires’ but after I thought about it I think it was a pretty good commercial actually.

The most hilarious thing about the vampire commercial is that...two or three years ago, no one would have found it that funny \:D/ But now, thanks to Twilight, the Vampire Diaries and etc...everyone laughs.

The imitations continued with this commercial:

It joins this one from last year:

And this one from two years ago:

In being modeled after this one from Super Bowl XIV:
