I added tons of things that didn't have a chance. ;) I just wanted to see people blindly vote for it so I could be frustrated later. :(

By all means Dark Knight can do it, but its going to have to have a HUGE increase over its predecessor.

I'll vote Indy first, Dark Knight second. Both appeal to the largest range of moviegoers, plus they have the sentimental value of beloved characters. I don't even get why there's a new Incredible Hulk... it's like they're going to pretend that the one made just a couple years ago didn't even exist. Wall-E looks disappointing, like it shouldn't even stand in the shadow of the Disney classics. It's an Atlantis or, worse yet, Treasure Planet. Get Smart looks like it would have had potential, but they will mess it all up in trying to update it too much and get the cheap laughs that the studio hired Steve Carrell to deliver. :(

Well, Friday's totals are interesting.

1) SEX AND THE CITY

Friday only: $26,100,000

Total since release: $26,100,000

2) INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL

Friday only: $12,250,000

Total since release: $183,131,000

3) THE STRANGERS

Friday total: $7,535,000

Total since release: $7,535,000

4) IRON MAN

Friday total: 3,650 $3,725,000

Total since release: $266,350,000

5) THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: PRINCE CASPIAN

Friday total: $3,350,000

Total since release: $106,008,000

I thought Indy might be able to hold his own against Sex and the City and keep it at #2, but apparently not. A bigger fall than I expected from Indy. I'll be annoyed if Sex and the City ends up being the #1 movie of the summer. ;) I am pleasantly pleased to see Iron Man has pulled ahead of Caspian in daily totals! \:D/ We'll see if that holds for the entire weekend, though...

While I don't expect it to be #1 or even in the top 3, the new Hulk should do well, all previews have gotten good reviews so if people actually go out and see it, they'll probably like it. It might take it some time to build due to word of mouth--especially once the cameo [SPOILERS] of Iron Man[/SPOILERS] leaks, since everyone apparently loves him dearly.

It amuses me that you think that people on this board are actually logical in their decision making abilities. ;)

I personaly hope that Narnia's terrible box office totals won't stop them from making more of the films. I have to agree, Im going to be frustrated if Sex and the city is like one of the top movies this summer.

Eh I broke down and voted for Iron Man... its holding well against Indiana Jones, though I wouldn't be shocked at all if Indy pulls ahead. Incredible Hulk might boost interest in Iron Man since RDJr appears in that as well. Of course TDK could still win but I REFUSE TO BELIEVE IT!! :x

No ofense....you're kind of ticking me off. :-s

I think Love Guru looks funny, but it probably will have something bad in it.

I'm thinking the dark knight will reel the most in with Indy being a close second...

Indy, Iron Man, Dark Knight, and Hulk are basically the only movies I really want to see/have seen.

I have a feeling Indiana Jones will do pretty well. I'm really looking forward to The X-Files: I Want to Believe (FYI, that's the name of the sequel), but I doubt it will be much of a commercial success. Honestly, I'm not even sure if it will be a good movie. 4 reasons:

1) It doesn't have any really super well-known actors in it.

2) The X-Files was something of a cult hit when it was on TV.

3) Sequels are rarely as good as the first movie (or in this case, the TV show that inspired it, since the first movie wasn't very good.)

4) The show ended 6 years ago; it doesn't have much of a fan base anymore. Also, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson (the lead actor and actress) look quite a bit older than when The X-Files was on, which is a little weird for people who have actually watched the show a lot.

Wow, sorry, I guess I got a little carried away with my (over)analysis of the X-Files movie.
Um, I guess this is where I'm supposed to say something funny or interesting.
