The new Whit sounds like Bernard. :x And I dislike his laugh. :x :x

But other than that I really like Darien's Rise a lot.

I liked it but, New Whit sounds like a dieing(spelling) a Hal Smith that had an unfortunate voice-box accident.

I thought Andre sounded like a combination of Paul Herlinger and a little of Hal Smith. At some points, he sounded ok, but other times he didn't sound very good. But I'm sure I'll get used to it.

I am going to have to agree with EK on this one. Although I thought Andre gave a fine performance in his first episode as Whit, the story failed to draw me in as a listener. I thought there was good music with decent dialogue, but the story itself seemed rather boring. In comparison to Fletcher's Rebellion, which I didn't like at first but is now beginning to grow on me, Darien's Rise falls short. I will keep listening though and hopefully my opinion will change!

Although I've already given my thoughts on Part 1, I'd just like to add that I'm also interested hearing how the rest of the story is split up. Like others, I was thinking, "That's all that happened?" by the end of the episode. Since I know the story, I was eager to hear more of it unfolding in Part one. However, I am glad that we get to hear nine parts of this exciting drama, as that allows the story to develop more slowly, as well as bring more depth to the characters. A nice change from the regular 25-minute Odyssey episodes that we're used to. ;)

I'm still amazed at how completely different Andre sounded in the first scene, compared to every scene thereafter. And why did they give us the first scene as the first sample of his voice? Just to scare us? :( No, but seriously, they should have re-recorded that first scene after he was more comfortable or something. :-k

"medals? hrmmmm."
..
"OH HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. medals. hahaha. [insert maniacal laughter]"

Yes, that cast listing needs to be updated. Townsend Coleman isn't the voice of Darien. :anxious:

I'm excited to hear Audrey plays the role of Michelle, though! \:D/

The correct name should read "Roger Rose." There are rare occasions during the show that it almost sounds like it's Townsend changing his voice, but it's not him. Roger Rose is your man.

Other vocal talent mentioned in closing credits of "Passages: Darien's Rise" altogether (I checked IMDB for the spellings but was unsure of some, as marked)
Jack Angel
JB Blanc
Joey Diaria (spelling?)
Chris Edgerly
Dave Fennoy
Quinton Flynn
Michael Goth (spelling?)
Isabella Hofmann
Matt Yang King
Sherry Lynn
Ken Mars
Armin Shimerman
Susan Silo
Fred Tatashore

Ooh, Kenneth Mars! I'll be sure to listen for his voice.

And Chris Edgerly... interesting! He played the Whisperer in Accidental Dilemma. :-k
