BEST MOVIE OF THE DECADE! (1980-1989) [WINNERS IN!]

Post by American Eagle »

In the tradition of the Greatest Movie of All-Time Contest and The PIXAR Contest, welcome to the BEST MOVIE OF THE DECADE! (1980-1989) contest! \:D/ This is designed to bring some comic relief to an often serious election season. If this is popular, I may do a similar contest for the 1990s and 2000s! \:D/

Part I: Nominate Your Favorites! - Finished!
PM me your favorite movies from the 1980s (just one, or a top 5/top 10). Some popular 1980s films were the fifth and sixth Star Wars films, Back to the Future, The Princess Bride, E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, A Christmas Story, and the three Indiana Jones films. Of course, we want variety, so try looking through this list of movies to find your favorites. I'll start the poll in this thread once we have 20 movies!

Part II: Predict & Vote!
  1. The poll will run for five days. Vote for your Top 3 favorite 1980s films!
  2. Predict the top 3 winners in this thread. Similar to this:
    1. Star Wars
    2. E.T.
    3. The Princess Bride
(Just avoid guessing the same movies as others. ;))

Is there a prize?
Yes sir! \:D/ The user who picks the top 3 films correctly will be given a $25 cash prize! Be sure to post your predictions in this thread!

It's time to vote & predict! Have fun! \:D/

That would be epic! :) I'd probably disqualify Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, because they are somewhat already be locks to win.

I'll eliminate a few for you. The Indiana Jones and Star Wars films have already been selected. \:D/

Epic is a famous word here. There are so many multi-million dollar films that are great out there!

DEFINITELY! \:D/ But it was 1990 wasn't it? >_> My mind always goes to 1985 for those movies for obvious reasons, but if I'm not mistaken, only the first one was made in 1985, the others were 1989 and 90...

My guess:

The Princess Bride
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Chariots of Fire
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance.

Of course. As long as another person hasn't predicted it, feel free to change it to whatever you wish. :)
