Re: Trumping Bible Verses
I'm gonna regret this. Heh. How is it contradictory? Even if you have to repeat yourself, please give examples in this thread. I don't believe it to be contradictory, and would like to prove my belief. Here are just a few of the contradictions oh so prevalent in the Bible. Really, you should just g...

Re: Trumping Bible Verses
Awww, you're learning that the Bible is extremely contradictory. Good for you. When the Muslims learned that about the Qur'an, they came up with a system whereby the verses that were written later override the verses that were written earlier. Neat little system, I thought. Of course, it makes the ...

Re: The Wanted Adds
Oh hai Crestwood. I'm in the market for a new avvy/sig. Something to do with the Sixth Doctor. Go with whatever theme you'd like, surprise me. I'd like a quote by the Sixth Doctor that you think is appropriate for the avvy/sig set that you create. If no quote, than just put my name on it. I'm not g...

Re: Pope Benedict Resigning
@jjjj:Hey now, I never said Luther wanted to break off from the church. I knew he didn't want to do that. You brought that up and trying to shove words in my mouth. Not at all. That statement had nothing to do with you. It was an aside. As in a moment when an actor turns to the audience and says so...

Re: Pope Benedict Resigning
People crave power, and I doubt he would willingly give it up after so long just because he's "old and tired". Capiche? So you don't think there may be leaders out there who have noble reasons for being in leadership? Nope. All government is evil Mr. Libertarian. @JJ: lol. That's funny. I...

Re: Pope Benedict Resigning
Why does everyone automatically assume there must have been a scandal? Because everyone assumes Catholics are evil/not really Christians. Heh. I must say I don't think that. I said what I said partially because there have been scandals within the Vatican before and during his time in office. I sinc...

Re: Doctor Who- Best/Worst Episodes
What in The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit did you agree with? I'm curious what particular things might have raised alarm bells. I can't really think of anything that would do so. Other than, you know, having a Satan story on nearly every planet. Though that's kind of a cool idea.

Doctor Who- Best/Worst Episodes
So I thought I'd open us up to a bit of a discussion on the best/worst Doctor Who episodes. We should start out by listing ours. List your favorite and least favorite episodes for everyone and we can talk about them and tell us why. Since I'm going to assume that most people have just seen the new ...

Sounds like according to that verse Ghandi would be in heaven despite not explicitly being a Christian. Heh.

Re: Please Clarify First
Galileo was jailed because he refused to present his theory as a theory. He presented it as a fact when it was not proven. Nope he almost got himself jailed for proving that Aristotle was wrong about how an object falls. And Martin Luther himself escaped barely from being jailed. I never said that ...

Re: Please Clarify First
Ahem, I know alot of Catholics and they still believe in salvation through works. Who said they didn’t? To the Protestant groups that most of these people came from, belief in salvation by "works" marks you as a non-Christian. Free gift of Jesus's death therefore not having to work for it...

Re: Please Clarify First
Galileo was jailed because he refused to present his theory as a theory. He presented it as a fact when it was not proven. Wait what. Why would someone want to jail someone for that? Unless they felt threatened by it. Also in science, there's no such thing as a 100% proven "fact." And als...

Re: Please Clarify First
Ahem, remember John Scopes, who got himself put on trial for teaching evolution in a public school back in the 1920s? And you better believe the Catholics had very little to do with that, this was in Tennessee.
