Re: Wreck-It Ralph

Thank you for such a thorough post, bookworm. I simply went ahead and read the reveiw even though I haven't seen the movie yet. By the time I finally see it, I will have forgotten the spoilers, so this way I get to enjoy both a review and a movie. ;)

Re: Ask an alcohol-drinking, girl-kissing, pot-smoking Atheist!

So, xiao, to finally get back to you: That's quite interesting. I am not at all familiar with the musical world, but I wish you good luck. You're not allowed to ask questions back in a Q&A thread! ;) First and foremost, I hope to be much more mature in my Christian faith, being closer to God and...

Re: A plague has broken out on my body....

Okay. Mine itches, but probably not as bad as yours does right now. The worst stage was when it was burning and weeping constantly, and I couldn't bend my arm. After getting over that, the worst of it was gone. However, the actual itch is still there on other places. It's fading, but it is putting u...

Re: A plague has broken out on my body....

Well, on my legs, no. It is more splotchy than bumpy. During the first stages (in the first week), I had small concentrated red bumps covering much of my inside elbow. In the center of the spot, the bumps basically covered the whole surface, and didn't look like bumps, as they appeared to be a comple...

Re: A plague has broken out on my body....

Hmm. Okay. That rules out a poisonous plant. For the record, Poison Ivy, Poison Oak, and Poison Sumac all have roughly the same symptoms, because they all have the same irritant, urushiol. What I have now is worse than Poison Ivy and more aggressive, so it couldn't be one of those. I know whatever I...

Re: A plague has broken out on my body....

It could be, but he'd probably have other recognizable symptoms that would indicate that. His description made me think that a poisonous plant was the cause, but I'm not at all sure of that. There are hundreds of possibilities, so it's probably best to assume its a common affliction.

Re: A plague has broken out on my body...

I just got over a horrible rash that made my arm swell to twice its size. It is now scattered over most of my upper body, but I really don't care, just so long as I can function normally. If you suspect it could be from a poisonous plant, use a drying agent like Calamine. You'll have to apply it sev...

Re: Did God originally create the four seasons?

While I recognize that the vital life functions are the same in either case, hibernation would result in a state of little to no movement of basic motor muscles. My entire point with the 'diminishing life' not only revolved around hibernation, but the state of the natural world during a constant col...

Re: Did God originally create the four seasons?

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, life is: a : the quality that distinguishes a vital and functional being from a dead body b : a principle or force that is considered to underlie the distinctive quality of animate beings c : an organismic state characterized by capacity for metabolism, g...

Re: Did God originally create the four seasons?

Remember, you are not just representing yourself, you are representing an entire group of people. To get back on topic, thank you for posting that, Kait. I understand that plant death is not considered death as they do not have the breath of life. However, plant death or dormancy would result in all...

No, but I generally try to avoid potentially offensive jokes when the target audience is present. Re: Something we miss often

That’s not amusing, that’s a poorly written article. Sorry if that wasn't clear, but I was not speaking of the article itself, I was commenting on the thoughts we derived from the article, based on our differing personalities and outlooks. I agree that’s most likely what the author was wanting to s...

Re: Something we miss often

I find it amusing that each of us read the article and thought of entirely different points regarding it. At least to some extent, I agree with each one of you. Our opinions probably differ the most because of alternate locations and backgrounds. First, Bookworm. I always enjoy reading what you have...

Re: Did God originally create the four seasons?

That's a very good point, Termite. Drawing off of what you said, we can organize all the seasons into two categories: a season of death, and a season of rebirth and growth. So, Mark Prescott, I would agree that there is much variety in seasons around the world, but they are always group-able into a ...

Thank you, Dr. Watson. It's been a while since I've read Genesis.
