Computer viruses

Anybody ever had one? Well if you haven't, don't feel like your missing out, you're not. I go on google and type it in and all these websites say it's free, then I download it, which takes 30 minutes, then do the scan, 15 minutes, then find out I can't get rid of it with out paying their fee. If anybody has a website they know of that works, PLEASE, tell me! I'm staying up all night every night. Scince I'm home-schooled I just do my school at night at the computer, wait for it to download and do somemore school. It gets annoying, trust me.
