phobias

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

phobias

Post by bookworm »

This is different than the ‘what scares you’ thread. I don’t want to know things that just make you nervous of uncomfortable. Do you have any actual phobias?
For example, I am very unfond of spiders, but I do not have arachnophobia.

I have two real phobias.
I have extreme acrophobia (fear of heights), I get completely paralyzed looking down and it’s so bad sometimes I even get dizzy being on the ground looking up at something tall.
And I have claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces) but it varies in intensity. Sometimes I can be in a little closet and be perfectly fine, and sometimes it’s so bad I can’t stand just being in fog.

I believe I only have one phobia, Angrophobia. Angrophobia is the fear of anger or becoming angry.

The fear of becoming angry? Hmm :-k

I have katsaridaphobia, which is the fear of cockroaches. They move so fast...and they look so ugly. And gross. And they're hard to kill. So yeah. That's my major fear.

Not so much of becoming angry. I am more scared of anger itself... especially if it is directed towards me or my loved ones.

Use the chatroom! It's been active for a year, and most of you are missing it.

I believe you're referring to phobophobia.
It's been awhile, hasn't it?

I have pathophobia, atychiphobia and gymnophobia. Not to paralyzing levels, but they're constant fears of mine...Of course I have other "phobias" but since probably everyone else has them, I don't think they count. The ones I listed are the more irrational ones.

And I have to know--does anyone have Arachibutyrophobia: the fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of your mouth? I've always wondered why that would be a dire fear of someone and would like enlightenment...
