I have a friend who uses the word, but she doesn't do it to look cool. She likes the word. But. .other people use it all the time, and that's annoying O:)
I do say it to try to be cool, it's just a handy word

Hey, my post makes allowances for exceptions to the rule. ;) There's nothing necessarily wrong with using it, so long as it's appropriate to the situation. Saying you've got swag while you're doing something athletic is okay. Saying you've got swag while you're relaxing in a hot tub is not.

Saying you've got swag at every chance you can use it is not okay, either ;P

That's strange, because I have never seen a hot tub at your house... \:D/

Justin Bieber signed a girl singer who's 26 years old and is Canadian.

I thought "swag" was in the same neighborhood as "loot" or "bling", i.e. "I got so much swag at the Justin Bieber concert. You might not be able to tell, but I'm wearing three Bieber shirts right now."

It's in the same neighborhood as to where those terms come from, but they don't mean the same thing.

What do you mean by "signed"?
he/him | attorney | spartan | christian | bleeding heart type

Note: My past posts do not necessarily reflect my values. Many of them were made when I was young and (in retrospect) misguided. If you identify a post that expresses misinformation, prejudice, or anything harmful, please let me know.

I believe that means he gave her a record deal, essentially.

That is what I've always heard it used as...I read a lot of mommy blogs, and a lot of them have used "swag" referring to freebies they have picked up at a convention or something. Somewhere I read, and I don't know if it's accurate or not, that swag can stand for stuff we all get.

That may be it, I don't know, but the usage I've heard is for mannerisms. A friend of mine says that it's "(S)omething (W)e (A)sians (G)ot"...forgetting that "A" can also stand for "Americans".

I really don't care what swag is/was/will be/what it's used for. I don't use the word, so it doesn't effect me.

And did anybody else think the same thing I did when I saw the cover of The Bieb's album "Boyfriend"? I'm talking graphic cover, not music cover...

That was the cover of the single; the album itself is called "Believe", and should be released some time this summer. I think it's...interesting.
