So, I ruined a German documentary today.
So... a German film crew came into my workplace today. They are filming a documentary about some kid in Germany who's dad moved to the United States, and apparently to my city.
So they wanted to see if we could find him, so, okay, they gave me his name and I looked it up in the city directory. Pretty simple stuff, there he is. So, I assumed I had done a great thing by finding him (you'd think they could just do this over the internet since its basically the same info as a phonebook), but heh, no... they wanted me to lie to the camera and say I couldn't find him. They said it would be over in 5 minutes if they found him that easily.

So you made up some strange story about why his name wasn't in the directory?
So you lost your trust,
And you never should have.
No, you never should have.
But don't break your back
If you ever see this,
But don't answer that.

I'll be doing my best
I'll see you soon.

No, I just said something along the lines of "Placement in this directory is not mandatory, thus its quite possible that a person would choose the option not to be included." without really saying anything about the specific person one way or the other.
And I don't know if the camera caught it but the ToO was on my browser so maybe it will make its way into a German documentary!

Or maybe they will critisize you for not working. The Top Crusader wrote:No, I just said something along the lines of "Placement in this directory is not mandatory, thus its quite possible that a person would choose the option not to be included." without really saying anything about the specific person one way or the other.

I'll be anticipating a large increase of German ToO members after the release of this documentary.

LOL no I hate it, its basically full of freaks and pedos and druggies and such.
So who is this person they were looking for? How long does it take to find a person whose name is the only thing you know?

I think they said they knew he moved here, so yeah, I'm not sure why they were expecting it to be difficult. I mean if you have the name and city it seems reasonable that you'd be able to find them in a phone book or something.

This just proves my reason for feeling lately that documentaries are over-dramatized.
That would be awesome. The Top Crusader wrote:And I don't know if the camera caught it but the ToO was on my browser so maybe it will make its way into a German documentary!

Why would a German film crew want other Germans to think that then you move to the United States you disappear and can't be found? That's what I got out of the story at least.
