Honestly, if the wargame is being set in a modern or historical setting, I prefer it to be as realistic as possible... The reason is, I don't really WANT to go blow somebodies head off in real life, but I want to have the experience of combat as close to real as I can WITHOUT actually being there. That's the fun of playing wargames, not the slash and dash, but the realism without it being real. I think it's boring to add in all the extra junk becuase it skews the battlefield in a sense. If I want to play an action or sci-fi or fantasy game, I want it to be in an action or sci-fi or fantasy world, not in a world with the 5th Marine Expeditionary unit, or the 3rd ID, or the 12 Cav, or the 82nd airborn. When I scanned the title of the topic, I thought it said Battlefront II. Because I've played that on PS2 ... and it was pretty wicked sweet.

Let me mention that the best game ever made with an "RPG setting" in the traditional sense was not in fact an RPG, but rather, an action adventure game known as Zel....nope.
