The only time I read that series was just over four years ago, so I'd probably have to read them again to answer. Although I do remember some stood out more then others (but they were all great too).

My favorite book is probably either The Last Battle or The Horse and His Boy. \:D/

My favorite book (if I HAVE to have one) is the Last Battle. It's barely my favorite, though. They're all so good!

Here's a brief review of the movie http://www.missionamerica.org/Brix?pageID=16486 *Mild Spoilers*
I was going to wait until I see the movie to read the reviews, but I couldn't resist. :D

I found that review rather dissappointing in that it really didn't say anything other than "the movie sticks to the books, and it's fantastic." I was hoping for a bit more substance.

Also, in browsing the Narniaweb forums, some of the mods over there have gotten to hear a clip of Aslans voice. It is reputed to be quite good, and definitely better than the Radio Theatre version.

OK. I just saw something last night that got me a bit upset.

The White Witch's sleigh is pulled by POLAR BEARS. Even something that simple SHOULDN'T be changed!

Heh, a few individual responded this tiny bit of controversy over at the NarniaWeb forums. Here's what some of them had to say:
FencerforJesus wrote:I heard somewhere that reindeer were not used becuase of some animal protection act in New Zealand. I also heard that reindeer may be CGIed in for the winter scenes. As far as the polar bears are concerned. I agree that they would be used for pulling the WW's chariot during the battle.
jet_100mk wrote:Actually I think the polar bears pull the White Witch's chariot during the battle. And when she is uses her sleigh(ex: when she meets Edmund) she has reindeer pull it.

Yeah, I'm willing to wait for the movie before I make any judgments. I know that many times a director will labor hard to produce a film true to his vision and then the studio will take care of the plubicity (trailers) and convey completely the wrong image.

Disney wants to appeal to those that have never heard of Narnia so they frame their previews and trailers to reach those fans.

They already know we're going to see it ;)

First, I agree with your first statement. Second, I though the trailer (at least the one I saw) was great.

It is true that reindeer could not be imported to New Zealand. They are, however, being computer generated. The polar bears, at least according to people who have seen the film already, are only for the charriot which she rides to battle. Other than this, reindeer are the animal used.
