i, mona tuck, am not a polaroid
life does not paint white squares
around me
and my turquoise-faded skies
i am not a paled tan figure, ambiguous in muted colour
neither am i a photograph
in a shoebox left upstairs for twenty-six years

but some day
that is all i will be.

they may be copper,

they might be giants.

Best poem to evar grace the ToO, methinks.
So you lost your trust,
And you never should have.
No, you never should have.
But don't break your back
If you ever see this,
But don't answer that.
In a bullet proof vest
With the windows all closed,
I'll be doing my best
I'll see you soon.

I'm gonna post a ton, hope that's fine. \:D/

Me

A girl trapped inside a mind,
Full of wonder unexpressed.
In her very soul you'll find
A beautiful swirled tempest.

Thoughts none but herself could know,
Fantasies both dark and bright.
With her pain-filled face aglow,
Imagination takes flight.

Feelings burn and visions fly,
Each step is felt as if real.
She's able to weep and cry
Without the tears to conceal.

Misunderstood everywhere,
Called a jealous, mean faker.
She finds few who know or care.
Loved only by her maker.

Two people live within her,
Inside she dances and sings.
Her outward self's a fetter,
Pain the only thing it brings.

Ode to tuna and pickles

My tuna, oh tuna, in the can.
Waiting for me to eat you.
Your lovely colors of peach and tan.
Make me smile, and drool too.

My pickles, oh pickles, in the jar.
With tuna you are so good.
Your crunch and tang will carry me far.
By far the yummiest food.

Trust, or Faith...or something.

I know the stars are shining,
But I can't see them here.
I know that God is with me
But I can't feel Him near.
I know that I'm His child,
But I am filled with fear.

Chorus:
What I know and what I see
Are two very different things.
That's what faith is all about.
I must trust in what I know for sure,
And believe that one day
I'll be able to see it too.

I know somewhere there is joy,
But there's no joy in me.
I know the future is great,
But the future I can't see.
I know that God sustains me.
But all I can see is need.

Chorus:
What I know and what I see
Are two very different things.
That's what faith in all about.
I must trust in what I know for sure,
And believe that one day
I'll be able to see it too.

Bridge:
God is the only thing worth trusting.
Everything else will fade away.
Trust in God right now when it's hard,
And you'll be with him for eternity.

Chorus:
What I know and what I see
Are two very different things.
That's what faith in all about.
I must trust in what I know for sure,
And believe that one day
I'll be able to see it too.

Lullaby For the Departed

My little one away from me,
My tiny babe most dear.
There is no need to wish you sleep,
For there's no darkness there.
There is no sun, there is no moon.
There are no stars, no night.
And oh, I hope to join you soon
Where Jesus is the light.

Chorus:
Your life on earth was but a breath,
But the new one has begun.
And though your leaving left pain,
And empty place none can fill.
How can I wish you back?
For you're in paradise with our Lord,
With only thoughts of joy,
And I'll see you again.

My precious little bitty thing,
Your eyes are first to see,
The glory of the risen King,
His might and majesty.
How I wish I was by your side,
Worshiping God with you.
But joy in the pain I will find,
Soon I will be there too.

Chorus

So goodnight to my sweet baby,
Though it is not night there.
You're in the best place you could be,
In God and angels care.

Your life on earth was but a breath,
But the new one has begun.

So goodnight to my sweet baby,
You're in God and angels care.

Land of Imagination

Come and let us run away
To the land of our imagination.
Together we’ll go today,
And visit lands of our creation.

Through pixie isles of wonder
We will tiptoe softly and gaze in awe.
Past seas and waves of thunder,
Where we are guests and nature is law.

In bright fields so vast and wide
We will run together with cares no more.
Past a snow-capped mountainside,
Like birds of the air, so free we will soar.

In rainbow filled lands we’ve laid
We will dance and sing with joy so sublime.
But the colors start to fade,
And we know we cannot stay for all time.

From this world we will escape,
In the land of our imagination.
But before it’s taken shape,
We must leave the land of our creation.

My Child, My Child

I’m all alone
My hurts my own
There’s no one else to share it.

My sorrow grows
Nobody knows
There’s no one here to help me.

But through the darkness of this night
Comes the One who is clothed with light.

Jesus, Messiah, Lord and King
Comes with healing in his hand to bring.

And as he pulls me from the sea
He looks through my soul and speaks to me:

My child, my child,
I’m always here for you
My child, my child
I will always hear you
Even when your life seems hopeless,
And the pain seems more than you can bear
I am with you, holding you
My child, my child, I love you.

Your life has a plan, I will make you new
Before you were born, I knew you!

My child, my child,
I’m always here for you
My child, my child
I will always hear you
Even when your life seems hopeless,
And the pain seems more than you can bear
I am with you, holding you
My child, my child, I love you.

My child, my child, I love you!
The good ol' ToO.

Two for the song lyrics catagory. I have several songs I could enter, actually, but I'll just do these two for now. I may enter another later though.

The Unfinished Love Story

Started out life
Unbroken, untorn.
Nothing was lost.
Nothing was gone.
But life went on
And things came undone.
Her fragile heart
Not unbroken anymore.
Why do things change?
Why do they break?
Nothing's for sure.
Now nothing's the same.
The breaking was over
When he went away.

CHORUS
Broken smile,
Hurt in her eyes.
No tears are seen
Behind her disguise.
Everything lost,
No one sees the pain.
She hides it all.
Maybe cries in the rain.
She should be dying,
Yet she just smiles.
Says,
"I'm alright, love.
We'll be just fine."

Beautiful eyes,
Beautiful smile.
Nothing seen through beautiful denial.
She says life goes on.
I come undone.
I break,
'Cause she seems just fine.
Why do things change?
Why do they break?
Nothing's for sure.
Now nothing's the same.
Everything we know has gone away.

[Repeat CHORUS]

I've crashed and I've burned
Over nothing at all.
And yet I still go on.
She lives,
She laughs,
She pushes it back.
How long can her hurt stay locked up
Before it falls out?

[Repeat CHORUS]

Broken hearts live to tell stories.
Broken lives aren't the end.
When everything feels broken,
Lord,
Come help us up again.

Scream

In chrushing silence,
We're blindly following
Everything they want us to believe.
Never looking for something different.
Eyes locked shut,
Inprisoned by addictions.
This can't be
All we'll ever had.
About to break free.
Never looking back.
Come on,
Change me.
Ready to begin.
Strongholds falling.
We're not giving in.

CHORUS
Scream.
Break down the walls now.
Let it all out now.
Come on,
Make a louder sound.
Now's the time
To stand up and shout it out.
Stand out from the crowd.
Breaking the chains apart.
Wearing your heart on your sleave.
Just scream.

Everyone in this place
Is on their feet.
Shouting loud,
Ready for the world to see.
All these hearts made so different.
Eyes opening up.
Breaking our addictions.
Now we know
This is what we need.
Never looking back.
We are breaking free.
Come on,
Change me.
Ready to begin.
Strongholds falling.
We're not giving in.

[Repeat CHORUS]

Scream it louder.
Make it harder.
We're stronger than before.
The old is broken down.
We're shouting out.
It's mumbling through the crowds.
We're that rumbling in the clouds.

Scream.

[Repeat CHORUS]

:D

May 5th, but the person running it hasn't been on since May 2nd, so I don't know if prizes will be given out or not.

The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance.

Wait! *panic* Who won; Billy Bob Thornton, the Brenner Base Tunnel, or the Brighton Ballet Theater? I'm confused.
