It's Time for...Random Trivia!
So, this is similar to Stop Wooton' Around's trivia thread...I will try to choose questions from every area imaginable--some will be goofy, others serious, others just plain random! I will try not to make anything too easy, but we shall see how creative I can get...correct answers without researching will be $5 each, correct answers with researching will be $2.50 each. I might throw some bigger worth questions in there at some point too...but I'll mark the price on those! So here goes...
Question 1 will be a Sports Question:
What was the NPSL?
Bonus follow-up question: Name one team involved in the NPSL.
EDIT: I've decided to double the prize money as of 7/22/11.

The answer is the National Premier Soccer League, and one team was the Sacramento Gold. (I used to be obsessed with soccer in fourth grade, and I'm pretty sure the SG had won a championship around that time.)
It's been awhile, hasn't it?

Huh, interesting...you just forced me to look it up. Unfortunately, that is not the answer I was looking for...however, considering the facts, you weren't wrong...so I'll give it to you.
Your answer (Sacramento Gold, National Premier Soccer League) is a recent development...they began in 2009 and are still going...(according to my research)
My answer: National Professional Soccer League--functioning between 1990 and 2001 and any team involved with them...lol, had no idea there were two groups with the same initials...
Ok, so new Question! Question 2 will be a Nature Question:
What is one of the easiest ways to tell the difference between a White Pine and a Red Pine?

White pines have a needle cluster of five around each bud, red pines have clusters of 2 or 3. I looked it up.

DING DING DING!! Good job! I've never heard of a red pine having a cluster of 3--but nonetheless, if you're ever stuck in the woods, you'll be able to figure out the difference!
Question #3 is a Lord of the Rings question:
How old was Frodo when he left The Shire, starting his ring-bearing journey?

Next question will be a...ME question!
What is my favorite color? (I've got 5, so you've got a good chance of guessing one! And if you name at least 3 of my 5 favs, I'll give a big bonus prize!)

Note: if you want to try for the regular question AND the bonus, separate the guesses so I know--I can't give credit for the initial question (name one) if it is within a list of 3-5 colors.
Sorry.

Well, both of you said blue, so I'll give you that...though more accurately, it would be navy blue (deep blue, dark blue, etc...)
I'm going to ask the next question, but you all are still welcome to keep guessing on my 5 favs!
Next question shall be a criminal law question.
When a crime is "aggravated" (example: aggravated assault vs. non-aggravated assault), what does it typically mean/imply?

An "aggravated" crime means something made the action worse, such as use of a weapon.
No research.
Four of your favorite colors are Navy Blue, Deep Forest Green, Orange, Black.

Good job, bookworm--both on the non-research and on the research! My 5th favorite color, if anyone is wondering, is silver.
Next question shall be a history question.
Who was the 12th president of the United States? And for a bonus: how long did he serve in this position?
